My Felix has a wandering soul.


Ever since we brought him home, no matter how much he clearly loves his spoiled life, that boy will take ANY opportunity he can find to escape. He can’t be trusted off-leash. His recall sucks and let’s be honest, that boy is sneaky as heck. He seems to have a sixth sense for knowing when you are distracted and he makes his move without a second thought.

Seriously, this is one area where Koly is no question a Canine Good Citizen. I have no qualms with Kolchak being unrestrained. In fact, the few times that he has been unwittingly locked out of the house, he usually sits by the side door and woofs until I let him in. Since he is totally trustworthy, Kolchak enjoys a few more life-perks than Felix does. Trips to the garbage can. Chatting with the neighbors in the front yard. Helping me unload the groceries. At the lake house, he can go outside to potty without getting his leash on.

OK, go ahead and judge me. I know how lame that sounds, but it’s the truth. I’m not going to do it for a 10 second walk to the garbage can. It sucks to be Felix.

BOL! Before she saw the handle on it, Grandma complimented the Mama on her “gorgeous new belt.” The Mama had to get it out of our travel bag and show it to her to convince her that the beautiful leather was indeed, a dog leash. I think Grandma was heart broken.
