Remember when I told you about Koly’s Corner?

 

The Mama’s eyes will probably start leaking again telling the story,, so we’re just going to link back to the original post and suggest you read it. Koly’s Corner is very near and dear to my heart – it’s a kennel at a rescue very far away where lucky dogs can go to wait to find their special humans. A lot of the dogs there are sad and scared. Can you really blame them? I would be sad and scared if I wasn’t sure if humans were going to choose me.

When I’m feeling sad, I just want my toys to cheer me up and a snack to put my world aright again.

 

So I’m sending a few of my favourite things to the current resident of Koly’s Corner and the rest of the pups at the Buddy Dog Humane Society. I figure if I like them, then the pups there will like them. I mean really, I have exceptionally good taste. Obviously.

Egg Buddies Dog Toys

 

These things are the BEST! For serious, whatever human thought of these things has got to be part dog. THEY are TOTALLY PRACTICAL. The animal is all plushy and soft, but the belly area opens up and you can put these special squeaky eggs inside. The game is to get the eggs out. It’s harder than it sounds and it’s a great game to keep your pup busy and their mind stimulated. Plus, when you kill a squeaky egg, you  you just get new ones. Easy as pie!

We love Egg Buddies so much that we’re sending two of my favourites: a hedgie and a turtle. I love to chew on Hedgie’s nose and Turtie’s legs.

A Plush Puppies Water Bottle Buddy

 

These awesome toys last forever, you know why? You can easily replace the best part. This cute furry sleeve fits over a standard sized water bottle. It makes this really cool crackly, crunchy sound when you chew it AND it protects your mouth from getting cut on broken plastic. Win/Win. Added bonus? The sound of my crunching on the bottle drives the Mama batty. She gets crankier and crankier until she bursts into laughter. Apparently, I look ridiculously silly and adorable when I am having fun.

Extreme Kong Toys


Nothing takes my mind off a problem like having to work on a Kong. Even something as simple as a smear of peanut butter will keep me working at it for a really long time. When my mind is working, I can’t worry. We thought the Buddy Dogs might enjoy some worry-free Kong time, so they’re getting a couple Kongs to toss around.

Ruffians Toys


Some of the Buddy Dogs have mad street cred, ‘yo. They be from the ‘hood. Until you’ve been a stray, you don’t even know what tough means. These dogs need a toy as tough as they are. (*Please note: I thnk I am tough too, but Mama says I am about as tough as a teddy bear.  I bet the Buddy dogs are real sweeties too.)

I love these tough toys so much that we’re sending a turtle, a ball and a hol-ee roller ball. They all rock my world.

Kong Squiggles


Every dog needs a squiggy! These toys are all springy and stretchy and they make a really awesome tug of war toy. I love my squiggy. I hope the Buddy Dogs do too.

Last, but certainly not least, it just wouldn’t be a care package from Koly if there wasn’t something tasty in there. Can you imagine?! Every thing that comes in the mail is supposed to taste good. That’s just how it is.

So, we’re sending the Buddy Dogs 20lbs of one of my favourite treats.

Darford Grain-Free Salmon Dog Treats

That’s right…20 lbs.I can’t even comprehend how many treats that would be. I bet it’s awesome. I’ve never seen twenty pounds of any kind of cookie. JACKPOT for the Buddy Dogs! Mama…can I have cookies too?! You don’t have to buy me 20 lbs. I’d be just as happy with a 14 oz bag.

All that shopping was fun! I didn’t even have to spend my own kibbles on it!

I like to go check it out and make fun of the Mama for not knowing any of the answers, but last month she must have had a mment of brilliance because we won! We didn’t even know it was a contest, we just thought it was a fun game! (It is totally fun. You should check it out.) The lucky winner gets a $25 gift certificate! Isn’t that so sweet & generous of them?! THANK YOU AFFURMATION!!

We decided to spend our prize on the Buddy Dogs on account of the Mama saying I have literally heaps of stuff already and if I don’t clean it up, I’ll be grounded forever  us just being good that way. To pay for the rest I just put it on that magic card of the Mama’s, what’s it called??? Oh right, Visa. I figure if the Mama can whisper to the card that “this will be their little secret” when she buys shoes and bags online, then the card and I can have a few secrets of our own, eh?
