We haven’t always known about about holistic health here at Casa de Kolchak.
It’s hard to believe that only a handful of years ago, I was a new dog owner. I fed the prescription kibble my vet recommended. I vaccinated Felix against absolutely everything I could vaccinate for. I trusted his vet implicitly when he told me that steroids, medications, special food and monthly allergy shots were the only way to help his itchy little allergic butt.I didn’t know any better.
In 2007, that changed when our dog food was one of the many recalled during the big Menu Foods pet recall. In my quest to discover a new dog food, one that I could feel confident feeding, I discovered a new way of life and started learning about holistic natural health.
The world of holistic health can be confusing.
There are so many ideas and theories. Methods are often not proven through “double-blind studies” or “feeding trials” because drug companies and pet food companies fund much of the research (either directly or indirectly). They are not going to pay for a study that proves that Nature holds the cure to what ails you, it would put them out of business. even if they did do the study, they are under no obligation to share the finding. As a society, we’ve been taught that everything needs to be “proven” and it can be really hard to take that lap of faith and trust that nature can help our bodies do exactly what it should: heal itself.Thankfully, I had help guide me.
There were many people who offered me their advice, expertise and wisdom, as I tried (and continue to try) to learn all I can about holistic health. Nadine Rosin is one of those people. Five years ago, I was lucky enough to “meet” author Nadine on a doggy social networking site and since that time, I have grown to know her better. These days, I am so lucky to count among my friends. Over the passed few years, Nadine has helped me by sharing her knowledge more times than I can count. Though we don’t always agree on methods, our core belief is that same: The answer to good health is found in nature and in ourselves. I know that my own health – and the health of my dogs – has been changed for the better thanks to the advice, help and love I have received from Nadine. I am so lucky to have her in my life.
Nadine’s story is absolutely amazing.
At age 8, her furry adopted daughter, Buttons, was diagnosed with cancer. Rather than accept the standard treatment of “cut & burn” cancer therapy, Nadine decided to do what she believed in and she turned to holistic pet care to clear, cleanse and build Button’s immune system up, empowering her to fight her battle with cancer – and win.
Buttons went on to live to the ripe old age of 19.
“Be it human, canine, or feline, the body’s natural state is one of vibrant health,” says Rosin, “But we’ve forgotten that because these days we know few, if any people who are vibrantly healthy.“
We want you to know how you can help your pet experience vibrant health.
And so, we want to give two lucky readers a chance to talk to Nadine and explore how they might help improve their pet’s health through holistic healing. As if that’s not enough, Nadine is also giving each winner, PLUS six more lucky folks an e-copy (pdf) of her book, The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood.
