I have been chasing my balls this week.
I have a lot of balls too – tennis balls, squeaky balls, rope balls and a big giant exercise ball that Mama claims is hers, but we all know how often she plays with that thing. Like never. Use it or lose it, Mama. Puggle rules.
We chased an extra special ball last week too: a ball of energy.
My new baby cousin Luda is kind of even shaped like a ball, all round and puppy-ish. He’s great for chasing ’cause he never gets tired. We played together for hours on Sunday. He’s still a munchkin so he doesn’t know how to fetch, so Mama would throw the ball, then she would have to go and get it too. BOL! She was playing fetch with herself. Lu liked the fun of running after the ball though and I like running after Lu.
So we decided to try and play a little of every ball game we could think of last week.
A Casa de Kolchak favourite is always Fetch It Yourself. My favourite part? Playing keep away with the ball. BOL! Mama would throw t, then race me to the ball. Since I’m agile as a cat and the Mama is a lumbering elephant, I always got the ball first. To show off just how much better shape am n than her, I would dart around and refuse to give her the ball. Once, I even ran right between her legs with it!
Big balls for a little dog.
That’s right! We had so much fun playing keep away with the Mama’s exercise ball. It was way more fun (and so much sillier) than playing with a regular soccer ball! First Mama tried to get the ball past me but I used my whole body to block it! What a fun and ridiculously silly game. If the neighbors didn’t think the Mama was nuts before then they *definitely* think it now!
I’m a balla.
I maybe, might have, possibly killed a ball this weekend. Just a beach ball. Those ones are so fragile anyways! All n all,, this was one of our favourite weeks. Both the Mama and I got n a ton of cardio. Mama says that running around the yard with me is a lot more fun than running on the human hamster wheel. Her legs were definitely sore from kicking so much after our big giant ball day and even her arms were feeling it, since she picked up that big ball a lot to throw it for me. Definitely one of those challenges where we saw just how physical playing with your dog can be!
