It’s seriously good to be a dog at Casa de Kolchak.
You might not know this, but when the Mama said we were writing a blog, I wasn’t initially thrilled. To me, it sounded like nothing more than a bunch of tappity tap tapping on her craptop.
And it is.
But there is a whole ‘nother side to this blogging business that I have come to love.
My title as Chief Taste Tester.
I’m living pretty high on the hog over here! It’s actually my job to try new treats. Not bad work, if you can get it eh?
What’s on the menu today?
The EOS Turkey & Sweet Potato Treats from Plato Pet Treats! Do you know who Eos is? Kind of a cool story (if you’re a geek like the Mama). According to greek mythology, she was the Goddess of the Dawn who every day opened the gates and let the sun shine in. Cool job right? Maybe even better than dog treat taste tester… NAH!
Seems like kind of an odd name for a dog treat though, right? Plato has named these grain-free treats for her as they usher in the dawn of a new era in dog treats. If you were reading our rant earlier, you know that the face of dog food is changing and more and more consumers are looking for grain-free treats and nutrition.
We love when a company jumps on board!
Back in the day, before we discovered his wretched food allergies, the Felix used to love the Plato Salmon Strips, so when we saw they had new grain-free options, we couldn’t WAIT to get our snout in the bag! the Mama can be kind of fussy when it comes to treats and these got her nod of approval. She likes that the main two ingredients are simple: turkey and sweet potato. There are some minor ingredients after that, but we think it’s safe to say that these treats are mostly all good stuff.
Always the cautious one,
I took my first nibble.
Hey! These things are really good!
I was a huge fan right of the bat. I gobbled the whole cookie into my mouth and begged for more. the Mama was actually frustrated as woof because I was so excited by these treats that I was not on my usual “best photoshoot behavior”. Luckily, the Felix addressed the situation with a bit more decorum.
You might not be able to tell, but that scrunchy look
on the Felix’s face is is “happy face”.
The Felix isn’t one to do “tricks” (He think it’s beneath him), but for these treats, he sat down. On command. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it totally is. He loves these cookies.
the Mama’s two cents: Overall, both dogs loved these two cookies. To me, they seemed a little crumble, so next time, I’d make sure to give them over a hard surface and not on the rug! I like that these treats are made in the US and that they also come in a Turkey & Pumpkin flavour. (We LOVE pumpkin treats at Casa de Kolchak!)
These treats get the Kolchak Puggle Paw of Approval!
