Our butcher is a GREAT, OUTSTANDING FABULOUS MAN! He is a Dog amongst men! He is a HERO! HE IS THE VERY VERY BEST!
~why? you ask?~
He sends me treats. He sends me THE BEST TREATS.
Humans are a curious bunch. People from all over go to my butcher to get the best free range meats around – chicken breast, steaks, lamb, you name, he’s got it. One thing he has a lot of is chicken livers. He raises and sells a lot of chickens, but those odd humans, seems they prefer their chickens WITHOUT the livers.
STUPID HUMANS, the liver is the BEST PART!
So the good man that he is, he saves them for me! he gave Mama a big bag on Friday. This weekend was a busy one for Mama. It was Mother’s Day and the GG is sick again, so she didn’t have time to do anything fancy with them, so she made a favourite of ours –
What is that you ask? It’s liver – only as a dip – and it’s *freaking delicious*. We love to get a scoop over our kibbles or veggies dipped in it, used to help stuff a Kong full of deliciousness or even frozen as a delicious pupsicle!
*2 cups low sodium/low fat chicken stock
*1 small clove minced garlic**optional
*1 teaspoon fresh parsley
* 2 cups of plain, low fat yogurt
In a blender or food processor, puree cooked liver and yogurt, adding chicken stock as necessary to create a smooth texture.
