It’s Fetch Friday and the Casa de Kolchak dogs are gearing up for our favourite event of the year: K9 Kamp! To get YOU in the kamping mood, we’ve got some of our coolest fitness products for dogs!
1. the Vario 6 Leash from Ezy Dog
When Casa de Kolchak dogs are on the go, we need a leash that’s versatile enough to go everywhere with us. The Vario 6 is exactly what we’ve been looking for: It can be used as a single dog or double dog leash, converts to 3 ft. or 5 ft. simply by moving a clasp and can be shortened to tether length. Best of all? We love that it can be used hands-free leaving the Mama’s paws available for other things, like distributing treats.
2. 3G Fetch Machine from GoDogGo
So, don’t tell her I told you, but the Mama throws like a girl. A wimpy girl. She tries. Oh Dog, how she tries, but playing fetch with her is kind of a bummer. It’s not much exercise if you only have to run a few feet. the 3G Fetch Machine throws the ball for you, so your Mama doesn’t embarrass herself.
3. Chuck It Launcher from Chuck It
If your Mama is a no good cheapskate frugal and wants to avoid buying a dog toy that costs more than a week’s groveries, the Chuck It is a great alternative to add a little distance to your throwing arm. You can even get an indoor Chuck It equipped with a soft toy for those gloomy, rainy days.
4. Dog Agility Peanut from FitPAWS
All this time, when the Mama bounced around on her giant ball, we thought she was just goofing off. Turns out, she was exercising – and your dog can do it too! The Agility Peanut is designed for increasing your dog’s core muscle strength, flexibility and cardio, but I think it just looks like fun!
5. Zisc Extra Tough Toys from West Paw Designs
I’m a long time fan of the West Paw Bumi, but the for fetching, I love the Zisc. Made from the Zogoflex material that is somehow flexible, but incredibly tough all at the same time, the Zisc is easy for your dog to pick up – even from flat surface and it doesn’t break apart when your over-zealous puggle chomps on it. Plus – the bright, fun colours just scream Spring, don’t you think?
That’s it for this week. What dog fitness products do YOU love?

Those multifunction leashes are so popular in Europe! I think we were the only dogs that did not have one at the time we lived there but they are quite practical!

We had no idea you lived in Europe Emma. You are so well travelled! We really do love our multifunction leash. It makes it much easier for us to take the dogs along with us where ever we might go.

With my fragile knees, I don't really exercise much. 20 or 30 games ( of 10 foot long tosses) of fetch (in the house) are enough for me. I do have an EZYDog Vario 6 leash though, It is Mom's favorite leash :) That peanut looks cool. Is it good for dogs with joint issues/arthritis? Hugs, Pepper

Yes Pepper, that peanut is good for dogs with joint issues, in fact, they were originally designed at rehab tools. Your Mama should definitely look into them. You can even get DVDs that show you how to do the exercises and such.

Gosh, all we really have is a leash. We don't have lots of room in our yard for Rita to play, and she's not huge on playing ball. We usually just hike with her or we go for long walks, every day. About 4 times/week we go to the dog beach and we walk and she plays like crazy.

We're lucky to have a giant yard, but we don't hike very often. Different paths for different paws, that's all. I wish we had a dog beach, it sounds lovely. Although, I remember that time Miss Rita rolled in something...that was kind of gross...

I wonder why my mom has not figured out how to get her paws on one of those hands-free leashes. Good grief. I want one. BOL Have a great weekend, Kol! Oz

They are rather handy Oz. (Get the pun "handy" for a hands-free leash, woof out loud!).

Oh man, I have one peanut ball, one smaller oblong ball, and a huge cylinder exercise ball. All for the dogs, of course. When I dry Pallo after a bath with the hair dryer, he has to sit or stand on one of the balls so he gets a workout while being dried. Koira doesn't have enough hair to make drying her logical.
We also own chuck-its (three different ones- one short, one long, and one for small balls). And backpacks. And weight pull harnesses. And a flyball box. And a wall board. And... probably other things I can't remember right now. We are on the lookout for a cheap treadmill to use for conditioning the dogs!

BOL - your dogs have more exercise equipment than I do. Granted, I've met them and they're also in much better shape than I am soo....yeah.
