A lot of dogs are intolerant of grain in their food.
And while some dogs are lucky enough that the occasional cookie or pupcake with wheat flour isn’t too bad, others get itchy, hot spots, and ear infections when they eat grain. My fluffy boy Felix was one of those dogs. Even a little bit of grain and he turned into a raging hot spot that smelled like sour yeast. Felix is the reason we started making dog treats at home and that’s why so many of our recipes are specifically designed to be grain-free.
