It’s finally cool enough here at Casa de Kolchak, so naturally, I ordered the Mama into the kitchen to make me something tasty.

These lamb and apple treats that Mama made tonight would be perfect.
A few weeks ago the nice folks at Clear Conscience Pet sent us a box full of treats to try. So far, we love every single thing the Mama has opened. The new Clear Conscience Chicken & Cheese Sliders Dog Treats are kind of rocking my world. That’s a story for another time though.
Today, we want to woof about the pure awesomeness that is the Lamb’s Lung Airy Bites.
These things are GREAT. Mama loves that they are so simple – just chunks of lamb’s lung, slow roasted then coated with the signature Organic SuperVeggie coating. Use dogs like that Mama says they’re small enough to get a few every day. More treats = a happy puggle.Plus, they’re woofing amazing. Mama’s been using them to help me learn a new trick and I’m happy to work as long as she’ll keep feeding me.
You know that Mama though, she’s never happy to just throw me a tasty treat. She has to see how she can pump up the volume and use these tasty treats to make one of her home made creations really sparkle. She decided to chop these tasty bites up and use them as chips of yumminess in a tasty apple oatmeal cookie. They’re amazeballs.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium apple, we used Pink Lady Apple because I love the flavour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. melted coconut oil
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 1/4 c. oatmeal flour
- 1/2 c. Lamb's Lung Airy Bites from Clear Conscience Pet
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, grate the apple. I know a lot of people prefer to slice the apple, then grate it but I find that grating it whole means you get more of that flavourful juice. Toss away the core.
Stir in the egg, the coconut oil and honey. Add flour slowly, mixing until it forms a thick, slightly sticky dough. Chop the Clear Conscience Airy Bites into small chunks and gently stir into the batter.
Scoop teaspoons of dough, roll them into a bowl and flatten them with your hands. Place the dough discs on the baking sheet and bake for 12 - 16 minutes, or until baked all the way through. If desired, turn off the oven and allow the cookies to cool inside for a crunchier finish.
If you’ve never tried lamb’s lung treats, we highly recommend it. The Airy Bites come in these perfect bite sized pieces and they’re great for convincing your Mama you need just a little snack. She says they’re good for “training” too. (See what happens when I bark and you’ll know who is training who around here.) Mama likes that they’re meaty and good for us and us dogs love that they are meaty and delicious. They were also a super easy way to add just a touch of meaty goodness to these treats. We’ve also used them in a stuffed Kong and been really happy with the outcome.
Have you ever tried lamb’s lung treats? Did your dog like them?

Jack wants to know why the secret ingredient for Iron Chef isn't BACON!

LOL! Casa de Kolchak pups rarely (if ever) get bacon - and when they do it's usually turkey bacon. A certain puggle loses his mind when he gets it and he's unmanageable for days, plus, I have a fear of pancreatits ;0)
