Game Day is almost here!
Here at Casa de Kolchak, we don’t watch many sports. We’re die hard Philedelphia Flyers fans, but that’s about it. We’re not gonna lie, the Mama actually wasn’t even sure what sport was played on Super Sunday. We won a prize as a part of the SuperDog Sunday event being hosted by All Things Dog Blog and DogTipper. The prize was this really cute football, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest it’s a football game, but hey, I could be wrong. (PS – SuperDog Sunday is a fundraiser for the Petfinder Foundation and it’s going to be fun. You should join in! Click here to get the details.)

Even though we don’t know what sport it is, Super Sunday is still a big day at Casa de Kolchak.
Why? THE FOOD! Game day means snacks. Snacks are IMPORTANT. Even though we don’t really care who wins the game, we care big time about the game day eatin’.
Needs some pup-friendly Superbowl Snack ideas?
How about some tasty GameDay Puptato Bites?
Potato Skins are a game day staple at Casa de Kolchak, but all the potatoes I could find today were a little green around the edges. Green potato skin is a major no-no for dogs, as it contains a deadly chemical called solanine. I opted to peel and slice our potatoes to ensure no icky green parts got in there. Here’s what you need:
2 large potatoes
2 dried meat chews – like chicken or beef
3 – 4 tablespoons shredded cheese
a tablespoon of green veggie – like broccoli or green beans, finely chopped
Pre-heat oven to 350F.
Peel potatoes and slice thin (about 1/4″). Place on a baking sheet. Break chewy treat into small chunks. Top potato rounds with chewy pieces, a bit of cheese and a sprinkling of the green veggie. Place in oven and bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until potato is tender. Cool and serve.

And really, would any game day be complete without Nachos??
Woof No! Check out these nommy nachos from Pawcurious.
Don’t forget that the veggie tray is always a great dog friendly snack.
We are always quick to tell our Superbowl Party guests that they can give the dogs as many vegetables as they like. We find that providing several treats your guests are encouraged to share prevents unwanted items like chicken wings and chili from getting snuck to Fido when your back is turned.
OK, so we’re all set for snacks! Who are you rooting for?
Who is even playing?!
